Product Overview
Felt shattered many traditional triathlon/time trial design standards when it unveiled the DA. Developed with careful use of NACA airfoil profiles, CFD flow modeling, and wind tunnel experimentation, the DA frame system delivers aerodynamic advantages and incredible drive-train and steering stiffness. The Felt DA has the latest innovations, including:
- Modular Monocoque Ultra Hybrid Carbon (UHC) Frame and Fork. Felt used premium carbon material sourced from several of the world’s leading carbon fiber manufacturers. The frame and fork are constructed of 3 different types of carbon, each with different performance qualities. The stiffest carbon is used in the drive train area for maximum power transfer and the more supple carbon is used in the upper frame and seat stays to dampen road vibration. To keep the weight as low as possible, less material is used in areas under the least amount of stress. Ultimately, Felt has designed the perfect aerodynamic frame with remarkable power efficiency, handling, and low weight.
- Revolutionary Bayonet Steering System: A unique design which moves the steerer outside of the frame, improving steering stiffness 60% over a regular fork, while significantly reducing the aerodynamic drag on the bike.
- 3.1 Carbon Fiber Multi-Position Seat Post: A versatile seatpost that allows adjustments to create a comfortable, low profile, and flat back riding position.
- Internal Cable Routing: Designed to smooth air flow across the frame.
- Chainstay Mounted Rear Brake: Designed to hide the rear break from wind flow across the top of the rear wheel.
- Front and Rear Wheel Cut-outs: Designed to reduce the turbulence created by spinning wheels.
