Credentials (Proven Performance 2006-2007) Quote from the Cervelo Website: "Now in its second year, The P3 Carbon has won about half of the ProTour time trials in which it was entered, and more Ironman triathlons were won on a P3 Carbon than on any other bike model. To top it off, it was the most popular bike model on the Kona [World Ironman Championships] pier and at the Silverman $100,000 Challenge (which featured a 180k time trial). At Silverman, four of the five pros were on a P3 Carbon, and only one of them (Bjorn Andersson) got the bike as a sponsorship from [Cervelo], the rest got it at a shop. So when real money is on the line and there are no team sponsor constraints, the pros overwhelmingly vote for the P3 Carbon."

Product Overview If the race merits of the P3C is not enough to convince you of its quality, please stop by Nytro and take this amazing machine for a ride down the coast at mach 3 and then climb through the hills - you will be astonished by its versatility. Ensuring no detail was over looked, Cervelo outfitted the P3C with everything to ensure victory, including: - Aerodynamic Smartwall Carbon Frame: Cervelo employs its industry renowned high quality carbon in a unique manner: They not only change the thickness of the tubes, they also adjust the lay-up pattern and the material properties of the carbon to achieve stiffness where needed (laterally) and compliance where desired (vertically). In other words, strategically placed carbon composites (varying in both thickness and pattern) give the rider stiffness for maximum power transfer and flex for excellent road vibration dampening. - Internal cable routing: Smooth air flow across the frame. - Rear Wheel Cutout: Creates a smooth air transition from the frame to the spinning wheel, thus reducing drag (even without an aero wheel). - Aero Headtube: No bulky nose cone, but an extremely thin, aerodynamically optimized shape to pierce the wind. - Constant Cross-Section Seattube: The airflow over the seattube is predominantly horizontal. The new seattube shape has a cross section shape that is separately optimized everywhere between bottom bracket and the seatstay joint. - New aero carbon IAA seatpost: With its Integrated Accessory Attachment, this new seatpost can secure behind-the-seat components such as water bottle holders much more securely. - Integrated Seattube collar: By integrating the seattube collar completely into the toptube, Cervelo was able to smooth the aerodynamic profile even further. The airflow doesn't even see the collar, yet the seatpost can be removed with ease. By integrating the seatpost into the frame aerodynamically but not structurally, you can fit the P3 Carbon into any bike case and travel without a problem, something that is very difficult to do with other integrated seatpost solutions that have the seatpost molded into the frame in one piece and that do not allow for the seatpost to be removed. - Component Package: The P3C wheels and components are durable, efficient, and carefully chosen to maximize the capabilities of the frame in both training and racing. For a "pure racing" set-up, please call Nytro for upgrades.

Test Review + Efficiency, Efficiency, Efficiency (the efficiency of power transfer is obvious). + Climbs and accelerates perfectly (low weight and rigidity make it very responsive). + Geometry allows an extremely aerodynamic and powerful position (steep seat tube angle combined with short head tube).
