Product Overview The P2C offers many of the same wind cheating and power efficiency features of the P3C at a significantly lower price. Cervelo's specifically shaped high density carbon provides incredible stiffness in the drive train area while still eliminating vertical harshness to provide for a smooth ride. Features include: - Aerodynamic Smartwall Carbon Frame: Cervelo employs its industry renowned high quality carbon in a unique manner: They not only change the thickness of the tubes, they also adjust the lay-up pattern and the material properties of the carbon to achieve stiffness where needed (laterally) and compliance where desired (vertically). In other words, strategically placed carbon composites (varying in both thickness and pattern) give the rider stiffness for maximum power transfer and flex for excellent road vibration dampening. - Internal cable routing: Smooth air flow across the frame. - Rear Wheel Cutout: Creates a smooth air transition from the frame to the spinning wheel, thus reducing drag (even without an aero wheel). - Aero Headtube: No bulky nose cone, but an extremely thin, aerodynamically optimized shape to pierce the wind. - New aero carbon IAA seatpost: With its Integrated Accessory Attachment, this new seatpost can secure behind-the-seat components such as water bottle holders much more securely. - Integrated Seattube collar: By integrating the seattube collar completely into the toptube, Cervelo was able to smoothen the aerodynamic profile even further. The airflow doesn't even see the collar, yet the seatpost can be removed with ease. By integrating the seatpost into the frame aerodynamically but not structurally, you can fit the P2C into any bike case and travel without a problem, something that is very difficult to do with other integrated seatpost solutions that have the seatpost molded into the frame in one piece and that do not allow for the seatpost to be removed. - Component Package: The P2C wheels and components are durable, efficient, and carefully chosen to maximize the capabilities of the frame in both training and racing. For a "pure racing" set-up, please call Nytro for upgrades.
P2C vs P3C: - The super aggressive P3C seattube offers increased aerodynamics by covering slightly more of the rear wheel in the frame cutout. - The narrower shape of the seatstays and seatube transition on the P3C offers increased aerodynamics as it blends in to the air flow at the rear of the frame. - The P3C is 150g lighter. - The P3C geometry is slightly more aggressive at the front end with a shorter headtube (Note: the less aggressive headtube length of the P2C may be more appropriate for most riders).
Characteristics - Color: Red/White (All Frameset Only Purchases), Silver/Black (with Cervelo Ultegra Component Package), Red/White (with Cervelo Dura-Ace Component Package) - Sizes(cm): 650c x 48, 700c x 51/ 54 / 56 / 58 / 61
Test Review + Efficiency, Efficiency, Efficiency (the efficiency of power transfer is obvious) + Climbs and accelerates perfectly (low weight and rigidity make it very responsive) + Easy to achieve a comfortable aero position (perfect geometry for most riders)
